Episode 122 - Professors Who Use Freshman Class Like It’s Tinder (ft Joshua Katz)

Parents are paying historic tuition rates, only to have their kids seduced by over-the-hill professors at rates that would make the dean blush.

When Joshua Katz was fired from Princeton he claimed he was a victim of Cancel Culture - telling his friends at several high-profile magazines he was being fed to the Social Justice mob. Getting cancelled for calling a group of student protestors “terrorists.” Even after losing his tenure he still grumbles online about how his termination had nothing to do with sexually grooming a freshman in 2005…or that he had done it several times since, even after Princeton caught him and suspended him. And his firing definitely has nothing to do with him marrying a former student the year he was being investigated a second time. A student he had personally mentored, and is more than 25 years her junior.

Funny enough, Joshua Katz isn’t the only professor to get caught with his hand in the freshman cookie jar. Nor is he unique in hiding behind political upheaval when he’s exposed to the public for the most basic of sins - philandering. In this episode we explore the statistics of professor-student relations, and talk about the dark side of consent between an adult who holds the power to end future careers by giving out bad grades, and a student who can’t legally drink.
