The Pirates of the Caribbean movies had lots of sword fighting and rum, but very little attention was paid to the medical coverage the crew received (those who aren’t cursed for all eternity) or how profits were divided equally. Likewise, plays and novels about pirates rarely address the fact that the Golden Age of Piracy only lasted about 40 years, and it began because an English King fired a whole navy without offering them pensions or jobs.

Then we compare the incredible levels of fairness the pirates demanded of their captains, with the selfishness of King George I of England.
