Episode 112 How Ranked Voting Might Reduce Extremist Parties

Another protester was shot dead in Portland. This time, by someone who fits the textbook definition of Radicalized. When does it end?

Today is a halestorm of the hottest myths being spread in politics today: Two party voting works. Lobbyist money only sways the “Bad Apples” in Washington. Anyone in America can run for any public office. And perhaps our biggest myth…majority voting (first-past-the-post voting) is flawed, but it’s the best we have.

All myths. All begging for Todd and Joe to pierce it like the bloated hot air balloon it is. We’ll even compare the wealth of Democrats vs Republicans to figure out which group is truly the party of the working man. And which party is statistically easier to radicalize into violence.

Meanwhile, we’ll continue our talk about the political shootings in Portland. This time we focus on individual radicalization through social media, and examine the Fox News and Facebook diet of Benjamin Smith…right before he grabbed a gun and ran out to kill an unarmed protester in the park. Not just a protester, but a retired woman volunteering as a crossing guard.
